EPC-VT June/July ⛱ Meeting

Hello everyone!

Here is a summary of our June/July meeting, our final one of the 2023-24 year!

Our round table discussed a range of educational events and resources. We highlighted an upcoming OECD webinar on AI and social-emotional skills, as well as a future BIM evaluation session for new pedagogical consultants. The Voc Talk café series has concluded for this year and will be back in the fall.  The QACVE conference received positive feedback, though some attendees wished for longer sessions. The TRÉAQ event showcased valuable resources from CNIPE. A Concordia AI in Education conference featured impressive presentations, including innovative tools for remote communities.  The RÉCIT VT reminded participants about contributing to the survey about pedagogical difficulties in specific competencies, available until Aug 30, and informed us of the new Pedagogical Consultants FP Community of Practice TEAMS group that is soliciting participants.   The Year-End report is almost finished and everyone had the opportunity to contribute.

We started working on some goals for next year, aiming to continue growing our current projects and developing some new ones.

Current projects:

• Voc Talk café – Dear Teacher Hotline where we explore teaching tools
• Educational Vocabulary Cartoons
• Education, learning and teaching insight blog posting 

Projects we would like to develop over the next year:

• Book club where we will have a read-a-long and group discussion about a chosen work
• Resource development for a new program – Auto mechanics
• Participant-driven Round Table Q & A group for all VT organizational and administrative questions
• A consultable resource documenting available in-house evaluations
• A cool name, motto, logo and colour scheme! 

We wrapped up our meeting wishing everyone a fun, safe summer and we will organize our meetings for the 2024-25 school year once we return after the holiday.
