EPC-VT September 🍎 Meeting Summary

Hello everyone!  Here is a summary of our  September 17, 2024 kick-off meeting, where we discussed group organization, recruitment, and focus for the upcoming year.  In housekeeping matters, everyone is invited to update their info on the group mailing list, the group decided on monthly meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month from 13-15h, and we will be working on an onboarding tour of digital spaces for new members.

During the round table, we shared ideas on supporting new teachers, including mentoring initiatives and resource creation. Various tools, like communication systems for teachers, shared competency rubrics, and resource repositories, were highlighted. We discussed creating a VT teacher-pedagogical consultant working group to create resources for the new Automobile Mechanics program.  We are looking for templates to help with scheduling and program logigrams.  Different professional development opportunities and support systems were shared, such as the Voc Talk café and the RÉCIT VT Just in Time Support (JITS).

The working committee session will be focusing on four projets this year, with plans to set up smaller sub meetings to start work in the coming weeks.  Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 15 from 13:00-15:00.
